The rate the company is growing and projected to be in 5 years would effectivly make us a little over $1,000,000.

Buncha Malarkey... So.. 1000 now. "Possibly" 2000 in another year from now. "Possibly". And those shares wont be vested for another 5 years.
  • 16
You're assuming where the company will be at in 5 years, and assuming she will get those other 2000 shares,
  • 17
and assuming that she wont be part of a strategic layoff before then.
  • 18
And she has to work a job she hates for another 5 years... for maybe all those things to work in her favor.

If we were talking about a 5 year contract with a guaranteed million dollar bonus at the end of it, that would be different, and

worth taking a second look at. But you're counting a lot of numbers that do not exist. This is a dangerous way to play your personal finances.
